About Us

Vision
To utilise the economies of online transactions and ecards to significantly improve the level of donations and gift aid received by charities through charity cards, whilst maintaining the value to the sender and receiver.

Mission
To provide a high quality and convenient ecard membership service at a low operational cost to maximise the element that is donated to charity.

At CharitEcards we have a genuine belief that charities should receive a greater benefit from the sale of charity cards. Recognising that a substantial amount of the cost is in the risk of manufacturing traditional paper based cards, ecards provides a viable alternative that maximises the return for the charity.

We are a UK Based company but we are happy for people to use this service and support the charities listed from anywhere in the world. Unfortunately the Gift Aid tax advantage will not apply to oversees users.

This site has been developed on a voluntary basis and we have worked hard to keep our external costs to a minimum. The £2.20 membership is primarily related to third party credit card transaction costs and taxation. We are please to have a Co-operative Bank Community DirectPlus account which provides us with free banking, the Co-operative bank also prides itself on being an ethical bank and provides generous support to charities.

Fortunately due to the current Gift Aid arrangements most people will be able to ensure that the full amount of their donation can be received by the charity. All donations are forwarded to the charities on a quarterly basis along with Gift Aid statements to enable the charity to claim the Gift Aid from the Inland Revenue.

All of the charities on this website have agreed to be supported by Charitecards.

CharitEcards has no direct association with the charities listed, their details are provided to simply aid your selection. Unfortunately it is not possible for us to list all fundraising charities as the cost of administering donations to charities that are rarely visited through our site would be prohibitive. However if you feel that a charity should be supported please visit "Add a Charity" at the top of the page.
