Douglas Macmillan Hospice

Douglas Macmillan Hospice is the only specialist palliative care provider in North Staffordshire and surrounding areas for adults facing cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

Douglas Macmillan Hospice provides the following primary services: 28 bed In-Patient Unit, patients are admitted for respite care, symptom control and pain relief. A Day Care centre serving up to 25 patients each day (Monday to Friday) in a comfortable and reassuring environment. Specialist Community Nurses (Hospice at Home) that visit patients in their own homes to provide specialist palliative care.

The hospice receives around a third of the £5.25 million needed each year, from Primary Care Trusts. The remainder has to be sourced through voluntary donations.
